Victoria Randall
Counsellor
Experience
I have been counselling for over 10 years and as well as my private practice I have had the following experience:
2022 - Present: NHS Staff Counsellor for a large hospital trust, specialising in workplace stress and burnout
2020 - 2022: NHS Specialist Counsellor working with patients suffering with disability and traumatic injury
2016 - 2020: Oncology Counsellor for a cancer support centre
2012 - 2016: Counsellor for adult survivors of childhood abuse
It was my own experience of difficult times throughout my life and the support and therapy that I received, that made me retrain as a counsellor and it was one of the best things I ever did. For me being a counsellor is an honour and a privilege to help my clients through their own difficult times, to be there with them through the tears, laughter, anger, personal growth and acceptance.

My aim as a counsellor is to provide you with a safe, confidential and therapeutic space to offload what is troubling you and causing you any distress or disharmony in your life. To be truly listened to without judgement, criticism and being emotionally involved can be so beneficial and empowering. I can offer that professional listening ear and will walk alongside you to work out what you want and need to do to move forward or just be able to live more at ease in the present moment. Sometimes we may just need to reach an acceptance and awareness of who we are in the world that we live in.

Life can be difficult and feel like it is testing us but it is also an opportunity for us to learn about ourselves from whatever it throws at us. Understanding ourselves and our emotions is so important as we often spend more time worrying about how other people are feeling causing us to neglect our self. I can help you work through any difficult emotions.

As an experienced Humanistic Integrative counsellor I can draw on several types of therapy to help work with whatever you bring to the counselling sessions. I am predominantly Person-Centred in my approach, although I have also trained in Gestalt and Transactional Analysis counselling and integrate elements of these modalities in my work. I also believe that Mindfulness can be a great skill and way of living to calm our overthinking minds that can cause us an uneasiness with life. However the research and evidence shows that it is the therapeutic relationship that is key to getting the best out of your counselling experience.
